Freshwater Village Plan
The Parish Council has now been granted status as a Quality Council, a step towards this was developing a village
plan. A questionnaire, one for adults and a separate one for children, was delivered to every household in Freshwater.
After analysis of the results from the questionnaires a public meeting was held at the Memorial Hall to present the
findings.
A number of problems were highlighted, amongst those were; overdevelopment, expensive bus fares, expensive ferry fares to
the mainland, roads in poor condition and a need for a better range of shops in the village. On the plus side it was felt
to be a wonderful place to live in spite of concerns about a lack of policing, also the sports centre was considered to
be a great asset.
From the results a delivery plan has been formulated, an annual appraisal takes place to keep the plan up to date. Click
