Freshwater's Village Design Statement

In January 2009 the Village Design Statement was formally presented to Freshwater Parish Council at their monthly meeting by David Lewis who co-ordinated the project.

The presentation was the culmination of two years of very hard work by David and his wife Jane, members of the Freshwater Village Association and Freshwater Parish Council. The bulk of the work, the background research, walking the streets doing a buidling census, taking photographs and the compilation and design of the document fell on David and Jane.

The Village Design Statement is an important document, once adopted by the Isle of Wight Council it will act as a statutory planning document for future building development in Freshwater. It also has historical importance as it is a snapshot of the Parish in 2007 and the opinions of the residents.
