Freshwater Village Partnership

Toddlers' Playground

Early in 2006 Freshwater Parish Council formed a partnership with the Freshwater Community Initiative. The latter group, previously known as the West Wight Community Initiative, has been in exsistence since 2000 and was formed as a steering group to allocate funds from the Isle of Wight Council's Community Budget to local projects. The FCI committee is a representative body of members from community groups based in Freshwater. Their major achievements have been the installation of toddlers and junior play equipment in Stroud Field and the skatepark. Many other smaller projects have either been helped with donations or funded entirely by the group. In 2006 the funding from the Isle of Wight Council ceased and the partnership was formed to maintain continuity. New Terms of Reference have been drawn up and they can be viewed by clicking here.

The FCI hold monthly meetings in the Tennyson Suite at the Memorial Hall which members of the public are welcome to attend, the date and time of the next meeting is Wednesday 10th February 2010 at 7:30pm. Please read the FCI Terms of Reference first to make sure your needs would not be best served by attending a Parish Council meeting. Copies of meeting minutes can be found on the 'Minutes' page of this website.
